The base OpenDRO software for the DRO-550 does not include support for the LCD and the two extra axes so you must install it before the LCD will operate. Go to the DRO-550 software page and follow the directions for how to update the DRO-550's software. On step 1, select the file in SourceForge that contains the word "lcd" instead of "base". Once you reboot with the new software, the LCD should turn on and show its status display on top with two additional axes below. If you don't see anything, you will probably have to adjust the contrast potentiometer with a small philips screwdriver. Turn it in one direction until the display background turns dark. Turn it back to the point where the dark background disappears and the graphics on the display are clear. Enjoy your shiny new LCD display!
